What is a Pre-existing medical condition?

Medical conditions or pre-existing medical conditions can be defined in the policy wording that you receive from your insurance provider once it has been purchased the cover provided can be different depending on the insurer.

Any condition you have ever had, or something that you have received treatment or medication for / seen a physician about within a certain time period, can be defined as a pre-existing medical condition by your travel insurance. Call the screening line to check before traveling.

Some insurances do not cover ANY pre-existing medical conditions. Others may accept them if they have been declared by calling a medical screening line so be sure to check BEFORE you travel. Let your travel insurance company know about the medical condition to see if the condition/s can be accepted for cover whilst you are traveling.

Some insurance policies will cover a certain list of conditions. This will be detailed in the policy wording.
